When Hamlet stabbed Polonius, Gertrude did not react scared or even seem to care. She reacted like it was normal and without much surprise. Normally when a person stabbed someone in front of them, they freak out and run away screaming. That is not Gertrude reacted, she continue her conversation with Hamlet like nothing out of the normal had happen. This made me think that Gertrude could have helped Claudius killed the Old Hamlet because normally people do not freak out about things if they are use to it happening. Also they usually have experience with a certain thing happening, so they can control their emotions and expressions. Gertrude did not freak out about Polonius bleeding and dying while she was talking to Hamlet. So maybe she helped Claudius killed Old Hamlet because she would have to had control her emotions and expressions so people would have believed that she did not kill Old Hamlet. Also it would have been less suspicious when she married Claudius shortly after Old Hamlet passing away.
