I am predicting that Hamlet's fake madness will turn out to be his downfall. I believe that instead of it continuing to be fake, his madness will actually become real. There were many moments in Act III where Hamlet continued to put on a show for characters like Ophelia. However, after killing Polonius while thinking he was actually killing Claudius, the ghost of Hamlet's father appears before Hamlet and Queen Gertrude. Hamlet asks his mother if she can see the ghost and she responds on page 110 with "Nothing at all; yet all that is I see." In response to Hamlet's question of whether or not she can hear the ghost she states "No, nothing but ourselves." Even though this isn't much, I think this is just the beginning of Hamlet actually going crazy instead of just pretending to be. The transformations taking place inside Hamlet's mind will eventually be the cause for his downfall.
